A curve of pursuit is the path formed when two or more moving objects chase each other in a straight line. We will now look at each of the pursuit curves formed by the regular shapes identified with the ruling planets.

##### 1. Triangle

Consider the equilateral triangle ABC drawn below. If each of the points A, B and C all move anti-clockwise simultaneously, with A moving towards B, B towards C and C towards A, we can draw a series of straight line snapshots.

When we continue to represent these snapshots, the pursuit curve of a triangle becomes clear. Eventually A, B and C will meet in the centre of the triangle.

The ruling planet identified with a triangle is Saturn.

##### 2. Square

The ruling planet identified with a square is Jupiter.

##### 3. Pentagon

The ruling planet identified with a pentagon is Mars.

##### 4. Hexagon

The ruling planet identified with a hexagon is The Sun.

##### 5. Heptagon

The ruling planet identified with a heptagon is Venus.

##### 6. Octagon

The ruling planet identified with an Octagon is Mercury.

##### 7. Nonagon

The ruling planet identified with a Nonagon is The Moon.
